(H20) 22501™"EXTREME" SERIES LIQUID COOLING KITS

(H20) 22501P

Introduction

The 22501™series liquid cooling kits are designed for near silent operations in extreme thermal load environments such as multiprocessors, thermoelectric applications, or extreme overclocking. These kits are ideally suited for wide body server chassis featuring 120mm fan ventilation. A chassis modification is required in most cases to locate the dual 120mm radiator. Other components are entirely plug-and-play

Performance features:

  • Extreme performance MCW5000™ release 2 series water-bocks with patent pending Diamond-Pin Matrix© technology
  • Extreme performance MCP600™ 12 Volts DC industrial pump
  • 1/2" OD tubing for optimum flow rate, and reasonable bulk
  • Slim profile radiator assembly with dual 120mm fan, each rated at 72 CFM (34dBA) each. Radiator may be installed outside the case.
  • 5 Watt 25 Ohm Rheostat (effective 3/10/03), alllowing to adjust the fans voltage to fine tune airlfow and noise levels.

Convenience features:

  • 12 Volt DC pump plugs directly into computer power supply
  • High-reliability, no-maintenance industrial pump features quiet operations thanks to brushless motor, and provides tens of thousands of hours of uninterrupted service.
  • FBK525 fill & bleed assembly fits entirely into a single 5 1/4" bay : no reservoir is needed, resulting in space saving, and uncluttered installation.
  • Quick-connect fittings, for safe and expeditious installation
  • Plug-and-play water-block installation, doesn't require removing the motherboard.

Optionnal devices and configurations:

  • Add a VGA cooler such as the MCW50™
  • Add a chipset cooler such as the MCW20™ (to be released 9/7/03)
  • Add a second water block for multi-processor applications, such as dual AMD®, dual Xeon™, or dual Opteron™ (soon to be released).

In most situations, the radiator will be installed outside of the case, either on a side, top, or back panel, with the two 120mm fans installed inside of the case. A custom gasket is provided with the assembly  to optimize the seal between heat-exchanger, panel, and fans. The inlet and outlet tube diameter are 3/8", and factory equipped with 1/2" quick-connect elbow fittings. Rubber grommets are provided for routing the tubing inside the case.

FBK525 Fill & bleed assembly - Revision 2

This 1/2" fill & bleed kit replaces a reservoir. It fits in any 5 1/4" bay, and occupies only one slot. Thanks to convenient retention clips, the FBK-525 revision 2 can also be installed just about anywhere in the computer. New inlet and discharge ball valves also offer added convenience for quick and easy insertion and removal of the tubes.

The FBK525 allows users to fill the cicuit with coolant, and conveniently bleed it of any air bubles. The circuit can then be used in a closed-loop, and requires no maintenance or refills. The kit ships with (2) 2 1/2ft long, 1/2" tubes for fill and bleed operations.

Inherent advantages of this kit compared to previous versions are:

  • Height: fits entirely into (1) one 5 1/4" bay
  • Retention clips allow alternative placement of the kit anywhere in the chassis
  • Direct access to the inlet and discharge valves from the front of the chassis
  • New inlet and discharge quick-connect ball valves feature easy tube insertion and removal.
  • Safe to ship with the system filled-up with coolant.

Advantages of such kit versus 5 1/4" reservoirs are also multiple:

  • Safety: Ability to leak-proof the system with no liquid in it, by placing the circuit under vacuum (simple suction per installation guide page 4). This allows users to install the cooling kit in a system already populated with all its components safely.
  • Efficiency: 5 1/4" reservoirs are too shallow to prevent air entrainment by the cooling fluid with high capacity pumps. It means that the level of the reservoir coolant above the pump inlet is not high enough to prevent the inlet suction from pulling in air. The high turbulence generated at the reservoir inlet can also create bubbles (admix air) into the coolant which transfer back into the pump inlet. Noisy operation, damage to the pump, and degraded cooling performance are high probabilities.
  • Convenience: There is no evaporation in a closed circuit, therefore no maintenance.
  • Safety: the FB525™ kit allows system builders to ship pre-filled systems with no worries for leaks.
