ap·o·gee: The farthest or highest point; the apex; a final climactic stage

The Apogee™ 1U low profile CPU water-block series use the same Patent Pending Diamond Pin Matrix technology as the award-winning Apogee base plate, with a low profile housing to allow installation in 1U racks or Small Form Factor Computers.

Motherboard and CPU Compatibility

The Apogee™ 1U comes in two versions, corresponding to the two hold-down plate models.

Versions are mutually upgradeable as the body of the water-block is identical:

1. The Apogee™ 1U Server is compatible with:

  • Socket 603/604 (Intel® Xeon™ - all versions)
  • Socket 771 (Intel® Xeon™ - all versions)
  • Socket 754, 939, 940 (AMD® 64 & Opteron processors).

2. The Apogee™ 1U 775 is compatible with:

  • Socket LGA 775: Pentium® 4, Pentium® D, Celeron®, Celeron® D

Note 1: The Orientation of the inlet and outlet can be conveniently changed by rotating the hold-down plate.

Note 2: Removal of the motherboard is necessary to install the mounting posts in all cases, except with AMD® Athlon™ 64 and Opteron™ (socket 754, 939 and 940).

Fittings & tubing compatibility

Two sets of Nylon hose barbs are included with the device: 3/8" (10mm) and 1/2" (12mm). An extra set of 1/4" fittings (6mm) is included for Europe.

The apogee uses NPSM threads. Please refer to "Connector Thread Compatibility" HERE for further information about this US standard.


Specifications

  • The CNC machined C110 copper base plate is at the heart of Apogee™ 1U cooling efficiency. The Patent Pending Diamond Pin Matrix was optimized using Computational Fluid Dynamics analysis to yield the remarkable results recorded by the water-block. In the process, thickness of the base was reduced to 3mm. This resulted in a higher compliance of the base with its mating surface (i.e. the CPU heat spreader) thanks to the base plate added flexing ability.

  • The housing is injection molded out of Black Acetal. This process is key allow mass production of the water-block, and thus economies of scale.
